Fellow Hotwire connoisseurs,
the Hotwire Club is a friendly community of fellow enthusiasts to foster a deeper understanding of the technologies invented by 37signals and hardened by the open source community.
We will tackle coding challenges in a biweekly pace, approaching the building blocks of Hotwire from first principles. We will furthermore highlight that Turbo and Stimulus are JavaScript libraries independent of any specific backend. This will equip us with a more profound knowledge of the capabilities, boundaries towards each other, and limits of the elements of the stack.
You can expect contributions from such illustrious authors like
- Dom Christie (https://twitter.com/domchristie)
- Stephen Margheim (https://twitter.com/fractaledmind)
- Ayush Newatia (https://twitter.com/ayushn21)
- Stefan Vermaas (https://twitter.com/stefanvermaas)
and last but not least, myself, (Julian Rubisch, https://twitter.com/julian_rubisch).
The best part of it: every bit of content will be free to access here, plus coding environments on StackBlitz.
For those of you who are ready to expend a few bucks, there will be special perks:
the AC tier at $5/month brings you access to a private Discord community plus sample solutions,
the DC tier at $10/month includes everything from the AC layer, plus promo codes to Ayush’s and my info products, as well as a one-time 50% off your first RailsReviews.com audit.
About Me
I’m a freelance Ruby on Rails consultant based in Vienna, specializing in Reactive Rails. Part of the StimulusReflex core team, I’ve been at the forefront of developing cutting-edge HTML-over-the-wire technology since 2020.
Having dealt with “reactive”, WebSocket based applications a lot in the past, I’m translating my knowledge to the Hotwire platform and try to instruct others. My approach is always first principles guided. Strip the problem to the tiniest feasible parts to thoroughly understand it and craft solutions. That’s the essence of what I’m trying to teach with the Hotwire Club.
Apart from writing these challenges, I’m also a regular guest author on the AppSignal blog and keep a blog of helpful Rails tips and patterns.
Cheers,
Julian
